About Ayuroma

Rebecca at Ayuroma studying the therapeutic properties of essential oils for addition to the natural skincare range
Rebecca Day at Ayuroma

Hello, I'm Rebecca Day of Ayuroma!

I launched Ayuroma in 2013, offering a variety of holistic therapies to clients in and around Worcester. In 2016 Ayuroma diversified to include the addition of retail sales. Customers can now also buy an extensive natural skincare range in addition to our massage services.

Education and background

I graduated from Manchester University in 1988. Then I worked as a Chemist  for the next 20 years researching, developing and problem solving for a diverse client base Worldwide. During that time, some of my inventions of novel chemical formulations and application techniques became Patents for my employers. Most importantly I gained an extensive knowledge of the health and safety aspects of chemicals as well as devising effective formulations. I research extensively before I come to a final recipe for each Ayuroma product. We source the finest raw materials and wherever possible we use the organic alternatives.

Consequently, I only use food grade ingredients that cause no adverse effects or reactions, as a result, the range is hypo-allergenic.

In 2009 I travelled to Asia to qualify in Ayurveda, Thai Massage and Thai Reflexology, Reiki  and also several other holistic disciplines. On returning to Worcester, I gained the FHT recognised qualifications at Gloucestershire College. There, I qualified in C&G Level 3 Aromatherapy, Reflexology, Swedish Body and last year -  Oncology massage. Now, I  attend courses and lectures to continue my professional development. I also keep up to date with current developments and legislations either through trade magazines or the internet.

To begin with I only sold products to my therapy clients. I received positive feedback, so I decided to open an on-line shop to offer products for anyone to purchase.

We attend a number of holistic and craft events , here the public may try our testers or purchase special show offers.

What makes us different

Ayuroma offers customers a tailor-made service. For example, we give each client a full consultation, then we select and blend essential oils together with carrier oils. Finally we discuss the massage techniques, since each client has different ailments and specific requirements.

The client can choose whether to have treatments in the comfort of their own home or at Draycott Coach House. We have a quiet rural location with on-site parking. We provide soft drinks to clients after their treatment. Clients my enjoy their refreshments whilst relaxing in our private and peaceful garden. No one is ever hurried away!

In addition, I offer flexible working hours so that anyone in full-time employment can enjoy the treatments at a time to suit them.

Our Skincare Range

  • We make Ayuroma skincare products with only the finest natural raw ingredients (organic where available).
  • We are bee keepers, and therefore we have a fresh supply of raw bee products which we incorporate into our creams and lotions.
  • The skin is in fact the largest organ of the body and therefore we believe it should be fed, as a consequence we use only food grade ingredients in all of our formulations.
  •  We thrive to maintain the very best quality products and to keep the prices as low as possible. We do not lower the quality of our products by the addition of greater quantities or cheaper ingredients.

Our products do not contain any of the following:

Parabens are linked to breast cancer, diabetes and childhood obesity and also fertility issues in men.

Aluminium salts are associated with dementia and cancer.

Phthalates and Triclosan have been found to be most likely  endocrine-disrupting chemicals.

Petro-chemical derivatives, and mineral oils. - we choose not to use bi-products of fossil fuels.

Sodium L/M Sulphates  are known to be skin irritants.  More importantly they have been found to have long-term permeation of the body’s tissues.

We also do not include any artificial perfumes as we only use essential oils or colourants, hence most of the products have a neutral colour.

And finally..... we do not test any of our products on animals!
